Day 1 : Marrakech » High Atlas Mountains » Oukaimeden

On the first day of our 7-day birding tour, we will pick you up from your hotel or the local Marrakech Airport and drive directly to Oukaimeden located in the High Atlas Mountains where there are many villages with traditional buildings and simple people.

Oukaidemen offers a variety of species such as Blue Rock Thrush, Moussier’s Redstart, Sardinian Warbler, Moroccan Magpie, Levaillant’s Green Woodpecker, Spotless Starling, House Bunting, Little Owl, and then we will move a little to another place in the same village to spot Alpine Chough, Black Wheatear, Rock Sparrow, Alpine Accentor, Atlas Horned Lark, and Crimson-winged Finch.

After spotting all of these species we will go to a local hotel in Oukaimeden to have dinner and spend the night on it.

Day 2 : Atlas Mountains » Ouarzazate » Boumalne Dades

Day 2 begins after breakfast in the hotel, our destination will be Ouarzazate driving through the Amazing High Atlas Mountains passing by Tizi-n’tichka pass looking for our target species including Long-legged Buzzard, Tristram’s Warbler, Bonelli’s Eagle.

after spotting these species and taking pictures we will make a stop at Amerzgane where we will find Maghreb Wheatear that considered one of the rare birds as well. then we will drive to Skoura to have dinner and then continue to Boumalne Dades to spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 3 : Boumalne Dades » Tagdilt Track

A good vibe at Boumalne Dades in the early morning enjoying breakfast to be Tagdilt track our next destination considered one of the main birding areas in Morocco as we will spot Cream-colored Courser, Trumpeter Finch, Short-toed Lark, Thick-billed Lark, Hoopoe Lark, Red-rumped Wheatear, Thekla Lark, and Temminck’s Lark.

then we will go to visit a place where people live in caves, is rocky canyon place where we will spot Pharaoh Eagle Owl, Maghreb Wheatear, Houbara Desert Lark, then we will drive into Boumalne for dinner and accommodation in a Riad.

 

Day 4 : Dades » Todra Gorge » Goulmima » Merzouga

Day four is so different because we will visit Merzouga, so after breakfast at the riad in Boumalne we will move into Dades Valley and Todra Gorges where we will find The Blue Rock-thrush, Black Wheatear, Bonelli’s Eagle, Rock Dove, Tristram’s Warbler, Crag Martin.

After spotting these species we will drive directly to the Majestic Sahara desert of Merzouga On the road keep your eyes open we may find Thick-billed Lark, Scrub Warblers, and Trumpeter Finch. Then we will continue to Merzouga village for dinner and spend the night there in a great hotel.

Day 5 : Merzouga » Erg Chebbi Dunes » Rissani

Today we will do a full-day trip around Erg-Chebbi Sahara in Merzouga and around Rissani, It’s around 100km, and we will spot around Erg-Chebbi dunes in Merzouga species including Desert sparrows, African desert warbler, Egyptian Nightjar, Black wheatear, White-crowned wheatear, Crowned-sand grouse, Spotted sand grouse and Cream-colored courser.

If you came in a period where there was Merzouga Lake because the rain in Merzouga is little and it’s dried in most years but if it’s available we may find some ducks and waders 

Then we will move into Rissani where we may find Pharaoh Eagle owl,  Egyptian Nightjar, Barbary Falcon, and Brown-necked Raven. after this, we will spend the night in Merzouga village.

Day 6: Merzouga » Tizi N telghomt » Zaida

Today after breakfast we will leave the best desert Merzouga into Tizi N telghomt where we will spot Desert Wheatear, Tristram’s warbler, Eared Wheatear, Dupont Lark.

At the end of the day, we will drive to take rest and relax at a hotel in Zaida to spend the night there after dinner.

Day 7: Zaida » Bni Mlal » Marrakech

day 7 is the last of Our week from Marrakech to Merzouga desert birding tour so we will drive into Marrakech after breakfast in the hotel and we will make a lot of stops on the way to take souvenir photos to maximize enjoying your birding trip with us.

Then we will end our tour by dropping you off at your hotel in Marrakech or the Airport.
